Roderick David Stewart was born in London, England, on January 10, 1945. Rod Stewart was the youngest of Scottish-born Robert and Elsie Stewart's five children. He taught himself to play the guitar aged 12 and inspired by the music of Lonnie Donegan, began playing in local skiffle groups as a teen. With his distinctive raspy singing voice, Rod Stewart came to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s with The Jeff Beck Group and then Faces. He launched his solo career in 1969. His songs were slow to takeoff, despite publicity on local television shows. In 1969 Stewart recorded his first album "An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down". During his career he has released 12 number one albums and 11 number one singles in the U.S. and U. K. With his career in its fifth decade, Stewart has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling artists of all time. Stewart has been nominated for numerous awards over his lifetime. On December 31, 1977, he received the Best Solo Male Singer award from the Daily Mirror. In 1989 and 1991, Stewart was nominated for a Grammy award for best Male Pop Vocal, but didn’t win. Stay with the Easy Guitar Tabs blog for more!

Easy Guitar Tabs : Rod Stewart – Have You Ever Seen The Rain

C
Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm,
    G                               C
I know;  it's been comin' for some time.
C
When it's over, so they say,
It'll rain a sunny day,
    G                                  C       C7  F
I know;  shinin' down like water.
F                                        G      Em          Am
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
F                                        G      Em          Am
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
F             G                         C
Comin' down on a sunny day?
C  G  C...
Yesterday, and days before,
Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; been that way for all my time.
'Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know; it can't stop, I wonder.
F  G  Em  Am...
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
Comin' down on a sunny day?
  (2x)

Easy Guitar Tabs : Rod Stewart – Maggie May

A                            G                                 D
Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you
A                                    G                      D
It's late September and I really should be back at school
G                            D                 G                   A
I know I keep you amused but I feel I'm being used
Em                                     F#m        E       A
Oh Maggie I couldn't have tried any more
Em                                   A               Em                            A
You lured me away from home just to save you from being alone
Em                                A                       D
You stole my heart and that's what really hurt
A  G  D...
The morning sun when it's in your face really shows your age
But that don't worry me none in my eyes you're everything
I laughed at all of your jokes my love you didn't need to coax
Oh, Maggie I couldn't have tried any more
You lured me away from home, just to save you from being alone
You stole my soul and that's a pain I can do without
A  G  D...
All I needed was a friend to lend a guiding hand
But you turned into a lover and mother what a lover, you wore me out
All you did was wreck my bed and in the morning kick me in the head
Oh Maggie I couldn't have tried anymore
You lured me away from home 'cause you didn't want to be alone
You stole my heart I couldn't leave you if I tried
A  G  D...
I suppose I could collect my books and get on back to school
Or steal my daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool
Or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin' hand
Oh Maggie I wish I'd never seen your face
You made a first-class fool out of me
But I'm as blind as a fool can be
You stole my heart but I love you anyway
Maggie I wish I'd never seen your face
I'll get on back home one of these days.
